Some call it a homeowner's worst nightmare, a cell phone tower right smack in the middle of their neighborhood, but these days, cell towers are popping up closer and closer to homes and local governments can't do anything to stop them. Still, Washington County, Tennessee, leaders are doing their best to camouflage future eyesores.
Just weeks ago, Washington County passed a resolution that requires all cell phone towers to be camouflaged. They can look like trees, silos, clock towers, or phone poles. The county says as long as proposed cell phone towers are taller than trees, they must follow these regulations. Because of this change, Washington County and Johnson City now have similar regulations.
