Police in Bristol, Va., Probing Late-Night Explosions
 



 
BRISTOL, Va. -- Police are looking for several suspects who used homemade explosives to blow up a mailbox Tuesday and then detonated a device in someone’s yard late Wednesday.
 
The suspects’ vehicle is described as black with four doors, possibly a Volkswagen Jetta, with several unknown young men or boys inside.
 
The devices are made with household products and are highly acidic and typically contain aluminum foil and plastic soda bottles, police said in a news release.
 
Police are warning the public not to touch these devices if they encounter them. Anyone with information about these late-night detonations on Tuesday and Wednesday are asked to call Det. Keith Anderson at 276-645-7425 or Det. DeeDra Branson at 276-645-7419.
