Davis Bows Out, Roe Up To Task
It was most certainly futile and probably a week late, but Congressman David Davis deserves credit for dropping his legal challenge and finally conceding the Aug. 7 Republican primary to Phil Roe on Friday.
Davis, of Tennessee’s 1st District, still maintains that state election laws were violated when Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican primary.
But Davis apparently realized that a recount or legal challenge could not possibly win; Tennessee is an open primary state that allows voters to pick one primary.
