We have enemies in our own country who want to take America down. Members of Congress have tried to do everything they can to destroy America from within. Congress and the environmentalists have done their best at it. We can’t be a superpower when we are at the mercy of the oil cartel.
Congress wants to talk about alternative fuels. All the alternatives can’t make a dent in the need we have for oil. To stop this nightmare of high gas prices, we will have to start drilling oil wells in our own country, for our use and our national security. How could Congress ignore the need we have. “Oil” is not a dirty word, oil is the engine of freedom. We have to demand Congress change its thinking. It’s one of the worst crises we have seen, it is so dangerous to our freedom, our economy, our way of life, our security.
The people have the power as of yet to pressure Congress on its thinking on the environment. Congress can change laws on things that will save our country. It’s a serious position that America faces, if the situation doesn’t change. We won’t be a superpower very long. We will be doomed. This problem lays at the feet of Congress. Our congressman has tried to do something about drilling wells and refineries.

the lands are leased but there are not any proven reserves on them. drill where you know there is oil.you are talking billions to exploreand there may not be a sufficient amount to recover.

The Oil Companys have LEASES ON MILLIONS OF AC OF LAND THEY ARE NOT DRILLING ON!!!!!!!
This is a distration for the citizens all it will do is tie up drilling leases they may or may not ever drill on!!!!
Just because they get approval to drill and a lease on the land to drill does not mean they will drill it ever!!!!!!

Congress failed again Tuesday to get anything done regarding oil. In typical partisan style, both parties refused to work with the other and find some middle ground. They are paid quite well and do not have to worry about fuel prices and all the costs added to everything because of this issue.
They could act today and require speculators to actually take delivery of the oil that they pay only a small percentage to invest in, driving up the price. This would stop speculation by big rich, greedy corporations, retirement funds and such.
Prices would start falling next week and fall to a level equal to oil’s real worth of about 2 years ago.
They could allow new refineries to be built and allow extraction/refining of the Bakken oil shales, coal to gas and place funds toward hemp and switchgrass for more bio-fuels. For some reason, they remain partisan while we suffer. Reason being, as stated before, high fuel prices does not bother them much like health insurance costs doesn’t
bother them, they have the best health care, we pay for it!!!!
It is a fact that Congress is not going to act until we force them to do so. Write your congressman(and Pelosi), demand action immediately, enough partisan bickering from all of them.
