Medical emergencies can happen any time and any place. The Bristol Regional Medical Center is increasing its space and services to better serve the Tri-Cities.

The hospital’s new $13 million dollar emergency department opened for business Monday morning.

The enhanced ER has 44 private treatment rooms. That’s up from 31.

The state of the art facility has more than 21,000 square feet of new space. There is also 10,000 square feet of renovated space.

New additions also include a new helipad for air ambulance services such as Wellmont One and MedFlight II.

This is the B-R-M-C’s first expansion project in 14-years.

The hospital has a Level II trauma center that was originally designed to take on 36,000 patients a year.  Medical officials tell us they’ve treated nearly 70,000 patients annually.

HAHAHAHAHA I thin it’s great! The ER is awesome! And I totally Support the Staff at BRMC! So if you don’t like BRMC or it’s wonderful staff go elsewhere....It’ll elp with the crowding problem! If such exists!

Nice facility.  Hope I never end up in one of their hospitals after seeing what they deem ‘acceptable standards of care’.

I hope BRMC also restaffed it’s ER department with people who do not voilate the privacy policy the hospital has. Seems a waste of money for them to put up all those plexi barriers when the staff can’t keep their mouth shut to other staff within the hospital about whose being treated in their ER the minute that patient comes through the door.
Seems to me BRMC better take heed before the lawsuits start rolling in because if it happens to this reader one more time I’m filing charges.
