WISE, Va.—A $30 million convocation center will be built at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, college officials announced today.
The center will seat 3,000 for sporting events and 4,000 for concerts or convocation activities and will fill a need for a facility that can seat large crowds on the campus and in the region, UVa-Wise officials said.
It will be the largest single capital project in the college’s history and is expected to open in the fall of 2011. Site work is already under way.
Find out what the facility will include and how it’s being funded in Friday’s Bristol Herald Courier
