Unicoi County deputies say, every parent knows what a car seat is, but some of them forget how important the life-saving devices can be. Authorities want to help change that.
Over the weekend, the Unicoi County sheriff’s department gave a few of its officers a car seat crash course covering proper installation, height and weight requirements.
Their reward—free car seats from the state of Tennessee.
The trainees say, if they pull a car over and find a sub-standard car seat they can install a brand new model in its place.
Sheriff Harris says Unicoi County can provide car seats to needy parents in the community.
