Sheriffs Report Third Area Stabbing In Two Days

One person was stabbed near Gray Drive in Abingdon, Va. Wednesday night, Washington County Sheriffs said.  The victim was transported to the Johnston Memorial Hospital.  Police did not know their current condition.

Abingdon Police Department will open an investigation into the incident Thursday morning.

This was the third stabbing reported by area sheriffs in two days.  Sullivan County authorities reported two unrelated cases Wednesday.

Nationwide, violent crime usually peaks in July.  It held the highest percentage, or tied with August for the highest percentage, each year from 2000 to 2004.  Click on the related link (left) for more information.

I would safely bet they all three are drug related, this area has gone to hell in a handbasket due to synthetic painkillers. I remember seeing stats from The Places Rated Almanac back in the late 1980’s we(Tri-Cities) had one of the lowest crime rates in the nation. Ahhh the good old days.

Must be HEAT related. If you can’t stand the heat get out of Kitchen, but leave the KNIVES alone!!
