The Johnson City Police officer injured in a hit and run last month continues to improve Wednesday morning.
The Johnson City Medical Center released Officer Javier Mata from the hospital about two weeks ago. Yesterday he dropped by the police department.
Police say Dearl and Connie Rogers hit Mata and dragged him about 75-feet with their car.
Major Trent Harris tells us Mata is doing much better.
Harris says Mata hopes to return to the force as soon as he receives medical clearance.
