Johnson City Police arrest and charge a suspect in Wednesday morning’s shooting at a local restaurant.

Jeffrey Christopher Scalf is behind bars Thursday morning on Attempted Second Degree Murder charges. The 20-year-old Jonesborough man is suspected of shooting a male victim outside a Johnson City Hardee’s Restaurant.

It happened Wednesday morning in the 21-hundred block of West Market Street.

Police say a witness told them two men and two women had just finished eating and were walking to their cars.

A gold Ford Escort came from behind the building and someone inside the vehicle fired a shotgun at one of the men.

The shot hit the victim in the shoulder. That person went to an area hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Jeffrey Scalf is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $100,000 thousand dollar bond. Scalf is set to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
