Testimony is expected to wrap up Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of gunning down another man outside a Johnson City motel more than three years ago.

Twenty-eight year-old Jason Austin is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Brian Ricker outside the Days Inn back in 2005.

Austin testified that he never meant to kill anyone.

Austin’s attorney, Gene Scott, told the court he plans to use a self-defense argument throughout the trial.

August 2007 A jury found Austin’s alleged accomplice, Danny Greene, guilty of second degree murder in Ricker’s death.
