Former Tri-Cities Satellite Technichian Arrested for Theft at Customer’s Home

The Johnson City Police Department arrested a former employee of a local cable satellite company last night, and charged him with 24 counts of fraudulent use of a debit card and theft of property.
Police say they took 35-year-old Jon J. Neely into custody after an investigation revealed he befriended a disabled person while installing a satellite at the person’s home. Investigators say Neely gained access to the victim’s debit card, and made 24 withdrawals totalling over $5,000.

The Johnson City Police Department arrested a former employee of Direct-TV last night, and charged him with 24 counts of fraudulent use of a debit card and theft of property.


Police say they took 35-year-old Jon J. Neely into custody after an investigation revealed he befriended a disabled person while installing a satellite at the person’s home.

Police say that victim eventually gave Neeley his debit card and pin number and asked him to buy sandwiches and cigarettes.
Instead, investigators say neeley made 24 unauthorized withdrawals from the victim’s account.
The victim recently received a large settlement from social security.

ignorance is bliss!!!! why would you give a stranger your debit card and pin number? that is ignorant!just asking for trouble!

Case in point. If someone is in your home doing any kind of work follow them around and watch them like a hawk.
If they dont like that then tell them to get the hell out of your house. Trust noone. Sorry but thats the way our society has gotten
