Johnson City, Tenn.—Margaret Miller, the director of East Tennessee State University’s financial aid office, said several factors contributed to the delay.  Their updated computer software, titled “Banner,“ went online this year; one of their major lenders, Edamerica, was slow distributing loans; and two full-time staff members left before the end of the summer.

The department is woefully understaffed and loan applications fall behind every year, according to some students.

By the way reconman00, I made straight A’s at ETSU. You can make more money with a two year technical degree from NSTCC than you can with a Masters from that heap of bricks they call a University. NSTCC blows ETSU out of the water in all areas. Good luck with a degree from ETSU, you are going to need it. reconman00 better practice standing in the financial aid line for some more free money because that is what your going to do for the rest of your life if you continue getting brain washed by those idiots. They actually made me build a bridge out of straws and duct tape in an engineering course. WOW! They even made me set a listen to how it is great to be homosexual then I had to write about it. YEE HA! That is a real education. After the wasted years at ETSU, I went to NSTCC because I wanted to learn something valuable. They had state of the art equipment and professional instructors that could teach real world applications. I learned more in one technical course at NSTCC than my entire degree at ETSU. I know many people with a degree from ETSU. IF they are not in the medical field, they can’t make much more than 25K a year because they can’t do anything except quote someone that died a hundred years ago. You can make more than 50K a year straight out of NSTCC because you learn technical skills that are in high demand. Now, who is winning awards?

ETSU Financial Aid Department would run much better if ETSU students would learn to READ and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!  The majority of those standing in line procrastinated and could have avoided this predicament by reading their paperwork and following deadlines.  This money is meant to pay for school and books.  If you want money for rent, groceries and you 3 kids, maybe you should get a job!  Grow-up please!

FedUp must have flunked out of ETSU or something.  ETSU is a FINE school with award winning from around the world.  Airport U is a community college…Its barely a step above high school.  The financial aid department at ETSU is horrible though.  I had to stand in line for 3 hours to sign a piece of paper.  They need to hire about 10 more people I think.

This does not surprise me. ETSU is the worst college in the USA. The Staff and the majority of the Faculty came from the bottom of the barrel. They are impossible to deal with. That place needs an enema. If you want to set under a shade tree, broke, and trying to play a guitar, go to ETSU. If you want to get a quality education that will open some doors to a good paying job, go to Northeast State TECHNICAL Community College. I feel like repeating that word again. TECHNICAL! There, I said it.

If they need more people, than why don’t they hire extra people? Just today, they were telling how much enrollment had increased.

They should have back up for all these unexpected things that are happening. They have always been a little lax in many areas!!!

The FA office can’t keep employees because they work them to death.
