News Channel 11’s George Jackson reports Elizabethton has appointed Curt Alexander Mayor. Your Tri-Cities News Source is at Elizabethton city hall.
Seven people serve on the council. Alexander was the only person nominated. The vote in favor of Alexander was 7:0.
Charles LaPorte was re-appointed as Mayor Pro-Tem over Sam Shipley. The vote was 4:3 in favor of LaPorte. The council also swore in a new attorney.

Elizabethton future is a joke. The citizens have no rights. I have to listen to gunfire at all times day and night from the City’s finest. The residents hate it but most are afraid to speak up aganist the man
