An East Tennessee soldier died in an attack on an outpost in Afghanistan.
The Associated Press reports Specialist Jason Dean Hovater of Clinton was one of nine soldiers killed last weekend in the deadliest attack on US forces in Afghanistan in three years.
Hovater would have turned 25 on August 10. He and his wife, Jenna, were married just six weeks before he deployed as a member of the Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade.
