Carter County Sheriffs arrested Casey Reed, 21, and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a Jonesborough man.
They found Michael Young, 39, inside a home on Sarah Annie Drive on Saturday. He had multiple gunshot wounds, sheriffs said.
Young died at the scene.
Reed was arrested, taken to the Carter County Jail, and placed on a $500,000 bond.
More arrests are pending, Sheriff Chris Mathes said.

I am the niece of Michael Adam Young. It deeply saddens me to read the majority of the comments posted. Do you people not have any compassion? This Casey character took the life of my uncle! It was a MALICIOUS act. multiple gun shot wounds to the chest!?!? Out of respect for my grandparents, (Mike’s parents), I will not list the number of shots. By the way, our family reads theses postings. This scary invalid, Casey took a SON,FATHER,BROTHER,UNCLE, AND COUSIN FROM HIS FAMILY! You can not imagine the pain and grief our family is suffering. Please refrain from judging my uncle and his wherabouts on the night of his MURDER? Give me a break! Seriously. Besides, he was with two of my cousins, one which happens to be his NEPHEW. I am a frim believer in freedom of speech, but please refrain from making comments when you have no clue about what took place. And just for the record, my uncle’s body was found OUTSIDE the house. It seems you need to get your facts straight. Here’s a hint, don’t always believe what you read, because apparently this reporter was clueless when writing his article.
I leave you with Luke 12:2, which states:
That which is covered shall be revealed. For everything comes to the light.
I assure you my family and I will not rest until proper justice is served!

I Totally Agree, Casey Should Have Been Charged With First Degree Murder. It Saddens Me When I Feel How Much Injustice Michael Is Recieving. Casey Reed Should Recvieve The Maximum Penalty For Killing Another Human Being, And Someone I Loved Dearly. He Should Get The Death Penalty, But That Will Never Happen.

It amazes me how merciful our judicial system is to a cold-blooded killer, by allowing him a hearing and a lawyer and all of that, when what he deserves is probably similar to what he gave Mike. Casey must’ve been a really scared and cowardly type of low-life to commit such a crime.

The funny thing is you people keep saying he wouldnt have done this for no reason, KEEP IN MIND…Michael was in the yard if casey felt for his life he could have went in this house or dialed 911 Im so tired of people defending a man that put round after round after round of a semi-automatic in man, little lone a man I loved, so I pray for Casey, I pray everyday he sees this horrific thing he did to another living, breathing human being, and God can deal with him on his judgement day!

i also went to school with casey and my husband grew up with him, it’s crazy to think something like this could happen, but it did i don’t belive he just did it for no reason, but only god and the people that were there know what was said or what made it happen,....we shouldn’t judge it’s not our place, god knows exactly what went wrong and why,and thats all that matters!i will be praying for both Mr.Youngs family and Casey and his family. god bless~

To Amber,
If you are such a good Christian, why are you being so judgmental? That, my dear, is a sin as black as any other sin. Also, Casey Reed acted as judge, jury and executioner for Mike Young and deserves the same. I can understand that if someone is scared or threatened that a gun may be fired once but MULTIPLE TIMES? Come on- you self-righteous idiot, face the facts. Reed is a cold-blooded murderer no matter the circumstances!

No Dear IF YOU READ CORRECTLY I CALLED AT 2 AM AND NO ONE ANSWERED!!!! PAY ATTENTION. AND WHAT WAS CASEY DOIN WITH A KEL-TEC SEMI-AUTOMATIC WHICH HOLDS LIKE 30 ROUNDS. AND YOU KNOW NO FACTS IVE TALKED TO THE SARGENT IN CHARGE THEY WERE AT A CLUB AND CAME BACK THERE NO ONE KNOWS WHY I NEVER SAID I DID. BUT FOR YOUR INFORMATION MICHAEL WAS GUNNED DOWN OUTSIDE!!! DONT TALK ABOUT THINGS YOU NOTHING ABOUT, CASEY DESERVES EVERYTHING HE GETS FOR TAKING A LIFE! AND WHY HE WAS OUT THAT NIGHT, BECAUSE THE MAN WORKED 6 TO 7 DAYS A WEEK ON A DAIRY FARM AND MAYBE HE JUST WANTED TO GET OUT FOR AWHILE SO DONT YOU BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE! AND AS FOR THE OTHERS I BELEIVE THEY WERE HIS COUSIN AND NEPHEW SO AGAIN LETS NOT TALK ABOUT THINGS YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!
