On September 2, city crews will start construction along Boones Creek Road at the intersections of Knob Creek Road and Highland Church Road.
Johnson City officials said the plans call for crews to add a center turn lane between the two intersecting streets, left and right turn lanes at all approaches of the intersections and signals of the Highland Church Road Intersection.
A press release stated the City of Johnson City and the Tennessee Department of Transportation will fund the project that was spearheaded by State Representative Dale Ford (R-Jonesborough).
The project is expected to take several months to complete.
