Scammers are targeting your hard earned money with bogus phone calls and threats of expired cards.
Here’s how the scam works:
You receive an automated phone call that’s supposed to be from Andrew Johnson Bank. The call warns you that your bank card has expired or will soon expire. You’re then prompted to call a number and enter your bank account information.
This call is NOT from Andrew Johnson Bank and you should not dial the number and enter any information.
We’ve heard from a number of viewers today who’ve been contacted and suspected a scam. If you did give out information, contact your local bank immediately.
News Channel 11’s Amber Miller will have more on the scam today on News Channel 11 at 5 and 6.

Coincedentally…I spoke with someone at Andrew Johnson Bank very early this morning. I called them because I got this automated phone call that said my card is expired and I need to activate it by calling the given phone number. Well, I am not an AJ Bank customer so I knew something was up. I called the number hoping to get a live person but it was the computer voice telling me to enter the card number. Yeah right! This smelled like fraud in every way…including the non-800 number that it gave to call. I gave this number to the AJ Bank lady in hopes that they will find the criminals!
