THE DIXIE BEE-LINERS TO HEADLINE OLA BELLE REED HOMECOMING FESTIVAL
LANSING, North Carolina – July 21, 2008 – Pinecastle recording artists The Dixie Bee-Liners will headline the Third Annual Ola Belle Reed Homecoming Festival in Lansing, North Carolina, August 15-17.

The Dixie Bee-Liners have appeared on BBC Radio, NPR, the Food Network, and radio playlists across the country and world-wide, including regular rotation on Sirius and XM satellite radio. Their critically acclaimed new album, RIPE, recently topped the Bluegrass Now Fan’s Choice Top 20 chart and also achieved two simultaneous #1’s on Bluegrass Music Profiles’ Top 20 Hot Singles and the Roots Music Report Bluegrass Chart. The Bee-Liners spent nine consecutive weeks atop the RMR Bluegrass chart and two consecutive months in the Top Ten of both Bluegrass Unlimited charts.

This year’s lineup also includes Tangleweed, Si Kahn, The Whitetop Mountain Band, the Ola Belle Reed Family and Dehlia Low.
Ola Belle Reed (Aug 17, 1916- August 16, 2002) wrote over two hundred songs including, “High on a Mountain”,  “I’ve Endured” and “The Leading Role.“ She received the National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Award, was honored by the Smithsonian Institute, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Maryland, and was inducted into the Washington Area Musicians Hall of Fame for her contributions to Appalachian Traditional Music.
The Ola Belle Reed Homecoming Festival is an opportunity to celebrate the life and music of this remarkable woman in the locale where her life’s journey began, the small community of Lansing in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina.
