The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office will let the grand jury decide if charges will be brought against a man who killed his brother in a dispute.

Sheriff Wayne Anderson said today that Robert Lane, 55, and Richard Lane, 54, had been having an ongoing dispute throughout the day on Saturday. He said Robert had called his brother and asked to meet him at the residence of their deceased parents. When Richard arrived, Robert attacked him and struck him over the head with a rock or piece of marble, Anderson said. Richard pulled out a 45 handgun and shot Robert, the sheriff said.
