BRISTOL, Va. — The Falls project, the city’s fiscal well-being and the vitality of its downtown were among the topics discussed Thursday during a debate featuring five men seeking seats on the Bristol, Va., City Council.

A crowd of about 50 turned out for hour-long debate, which was presented by the Bristol Tenn.-Va., Association of Realtors. Incumbents Don Ashley, Ed Harlow and Jim Steele answered questions along with challengers Bill Hartley and Archie Hubbard, who is running as a write-in candidate. Three seats are up for grabs in the May 6 general election.
