Sullivan OKs jail renovation to relocate Historic Archives

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. — Sullivan County wants to renovate the old jail in the Historic Courthouse in order to relocate the historic archives — now housed in an old, unheated county building outside of town.

The commissioners approved a resolution Tuesday that authorizes county employees to begin the work, but several issues were raised during discussion.
