BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. – Failed bounty hunter Joseph Scott Horne died when a single bullet from his own gun ripped into his left arm, through a lung and punched through his heart before lodging deeper into his body, an autopsy report states.

He was also “acutely intoxicated” on the morning of Aug. 10, when he botched the hunt for a fugitive and instead pulled the gun on the wrong man, the autopsy found. His blood-alcohol content is listed at .198 percent, which is more than double the legal driving limit of .08.
