BRISTOL, Va. — The test to earn a General Equivalency Diploma will change next year, requiring aspiring graduates to pick up some computer skills as well as test knowledge.

The test for a general educational development certificate will move from a paper-and-pencil format to an all-computer format starting in January, said Shirley Carlson, program manager for the Mt. Rogers Regional Adult Education Program. The last overhaul of the GED test took place in 2002.
