BRISTOL, Va. — Site preparation for The Falls commercial development is expected to begin June 24, and the pace will be frantic.

On Monday, the city's Industrial Development Authority approved and signed an $18 million agreement with W-L Construction, of Chilhowie, Va., to prepare land for the first phase of the dining, shopping and entertainment complex planned for land near Interstate 81's Exit 5. The contractor has about six months to level the site and provide a pad where Cabela's, the center's anchor tenant, can begin construction.
