ABINGDON, Va. – The Washington County Board of Supervisors is giving serious consideration to an issue that comes up regularly in county politics: reinstituting public comment periods at board meetings.

The board allowed a local citizens group to talk about its proposal in favor of doing so, then voted Tuesday to instruct a new committee to develop a recommendation.
