It took one penny at a time and eight years to build a new library here.

The hard work paid off. On Wednesday, about 50 dignitaries, library supporters and community members celebrated the opening of the new 6,500-square-foot library and visitor’s center. The building was a cooperative effort among federal, state and local governments, and private business and the community.
