Temperatures in the Tri-Cities region hit 91 degrees Wednesday, the eighth time the area has hit at least 90 this year. According to the National Weather Service, the region was short of the record high for Wednesday. In 1954, a high of 97 degrees was recorded at the Tri-Cities Regional Airport. The weather service does not expect the 90-degree weather to continue. The high forecast for today is 81 and 78 Friday. Temperatures might reach the mid-80s next week, meteorologists said. After pop-up storms Wednesday, no rain is expected until next week.
