Chad Spires knew he had to kill the skunk that trespassed onto his lawn Saturday morning. He just didn’t want to do it with a shotgun.

“That would have blown its stink-sack everywhere,” reasoned Spires, 31. Also, he believed the errant skunk had rabies, which was the reason he wanted to kill it in the first place.
