BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. — A man charged with attempted murder in a Tuesday night shooting said his gun discharged during an altercation with the shooting victim and he does not know who pulled the trigger, a court affidavit states.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office charged Edward Mabe, 49, of the 200 block of George Carr Road, Blountville, Tenn., with attempt to commit second-degree murder and aggravated assault following an incident at a nearby residence on that road.
