$3.8 million in grants flows to Southwest Virginia infrastructure projects

A water project for the Washington County community of Mendota is among those funded in $6.2 million worth of Community Development Block Grants announced Tuesday.

The project, which received more than $350,000, will extend water lines from Scott County to serve Washington County Service Authority customers in Mendota, whose locally based water system has problems with supply and quality.
